FORD EDAP

By James Campbell-Sinclair | In News | on August 10, 2015

Mark Solomons Sifu was kindly invited by Gary Fryer who is on the committee of the Ford Edap leisure facilities at Dunton Essex.

During the the course of the day Mark met with many of the Ford workers and handed out printed literature of the Wing Chun Kung Fu system as taught by the UK Wing Chun Assoc. and also some useful self defence brochures which were accepted by most people with gratitude.

The idea of the day was to gauge if there was sufficient interest in stetting up a Wing Chun class under the Ford Edap system at the Ford Dunton Research Centre in Essex.  Only time will tell, but it does not look promising.

Wing Chun still suffers from a very low awareness in the general public and some of the existing Wing Chun students from other schools were not simply uninterested but were openly arrogant and hostile toward any approach. This unfortunately appears to be the general attitude and insecurity shown by many Wing Chun students and martial artists. Such as shame when the general public, who may be unaware of Wing Chun specifically, still feel that martial arts is a great medium for building self confidence and character.
